A Sunday Hike in DuPont State Forest

This past weekend we found ourselves coming into those winter temperatures, when the sun is shining in the morning and it looks warm outside then you see the frost sparkling on the trees and the deck and when you open the door the temperature truth awakes you.   Yes, when its that cold in the morning the last thing you want to think about is doing anything outside.  Our suggestion, get yourself one of those weather apps on your phone and look at the temperature times throughout the day and plan away.  It typically becomes tolerable around 11am and by 1pm you're regretting you did plan that hike or run or bike ride but chose to clean the bathroom or run errands in the heated car instead.

This past Sunday was one of those days but after looking at the temperature times the DuPont hike with  friends and family actually happened  and guess what, it was quite warm on top of Big Rock at the crossing.
